Nancy Kerlin
In Amity, Indiana, there sits an odd little grave that happens to mark a split in the road. The county roads were actually built around the grave of Nancy Kerlin because road workers at the time were too scared to go near it. Her grandson, Daniel, fiercely protected the spot and threatened anyone attempting to move the grave with a gun. Eventually, the county gave up and split the road around the grave. Nancy’s plot is now considered a historical monument. It also has a reputation for being haunted, naturally, and many people stop by the grave at night hoping to encounter the paranormal.
