Real Madrid squad vs Dr. Olmo | October 19, 2015
Once again there are rumors of tension between Jesús Olmo, head of Real Madrid’s medical staff, and the players. The players’ annoyance with Olmo has been ongoing, which includes rumors of a locker room mole for the front office. Earlier this summer, the club cleaned house and fired many long-serving and well-liked employees. Despite this, Olmo had been given more free reign, even though he does not have the squad’s backing. There is so much distrust of the medical staff due to misdiagnoses that players have frequently sought outside treatment.
It’s also being reported that the situation has gotten so bad that the players have barred Olmo from the locker room. Sergio Ramos had been given the task to get the opinions of every player. With the exception of one or two people, they agreed that Olmo shouldn’t be allowed in the dressing room. The head doctor has also been accused of having a hand in the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti for blaming the coach for last season’s injuries.
